Sabrina Sonner - Supplemental Post

This may not be a new idea at this point, but the best way I've had cultural appropriation explained to me was using The Nightmare Before Christmas. Okay, maybe not the best in terms of nuance and historical context. But it's the way that makes it click the easiest for me. It simply covers the main ideas, that you can appreciate a culture respectfully and appropriate culture poorly, that it's a messy mix of actions and intentions. So while it's not a complete explanation, I thought it might be worth sharing. I've attached one of the Tumblr posts about it, there's also multiple blog posts about it if you just google it.
