Supplement Post 2- Madeline Virga

So the winter Olympics started last Friday. For my family and me, the Olympics and other large sporting events are big in my household. Growing up many athletes were my stars/celebrities. Watching this years Olympics, I started to think about the star/celebrity status of some of these athletes.
For about three months leading up to the games, the roughly three weeks of the physical games, and, if a winner, the three months after the games these athletes are in the public eye. Now the winter Olympics definitely don't get as much "hype" as the summer, but they are still recognized by the news and those who watch.
For these games, I have been following Chloe Kim. The seventeen years old snowboarder who, this week, is the youngest female to win a gold medal in snowboarding and the first woman to land back to back 1080s. Chloe came into the spotlight just before the games. Now during the games, she has garnered a lot of recognition because of her success, her hangry tweets, and her adorable father. When the Olympics are over Chloe with go on a press tour, maybe get on the cover of Wheaties, and do some other sponsorships. But she will wade away till the next Olympics.
This makes me think about actors, and when we talk about them. For the most part, we don't talk about actors consistently unless they are promoting a movie or on a tv show. Once those shows are on hiatus/end, or the film has been released we forget about them--that is until their next project comes around.
This makes me ponder some questions, like do we only give these athletes and stars our attention because of their prominence in the media at the time? Do actors stay in the forefront because they are doing more project consistently? Or is it because not many people pay attention to sports?

Also here are some links to her tweets, and gold medal run:
